OUR COACHING & PLAYER PHILOSOPHY

We Strive to help every girl develop a sense of personal responsibility and an understanding of the hard work that is necessary for one to be successful in life. Girls will be taught mental toughness and how to cope with adversity during games, practices, and outside the rink. We hope through their experience our girls will develop an appreciation for physical conditioning, healthy life choices, self-discipline, responsibility, accountability, self-esteem, pride, integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Our Coach’s role is to guide our girls through the development of these values by developing relationships with our athletes that allow for trust and respect. We must be patient, supportive, and listen but also be clear and honest with our expectations and decisions. We also expect them to perform well in games and push them out of their comfort zones to achieve success. We know the hard work that is necessary to have a successful program and we are dedicated to pushing our athletes to those limits.

Finally, and most importantly, Ice Hawks endeavors that each player has an enjoyable and rewarding experience learning and playing hockey while sharing the healthy emotional spectrum of success and failure with their team, coaches, and family.
